Go AFA!

Hey guys! Today I just discussed the life of a boy name Jethro from a Civil War novel called Across Five Aprils. That boy is really trustworthy. He had to take over his dad's farm at such a young age(11). This shows how the Civil War affected many different people in different ways. So far this book has been good. I'm on chapter 11. Shh! Don't tell anybody I read ahead. I recommend this book for anyone who loves to read and learn about the Civil War.

Reading a new novel

Hanging out with my bud's Khang, Raveena, and Tracy. We are talking about a Civil War novel called Elijah of Buxton. We talked about how slavery was cruel and why people in Buxton ran away from slavery. We also discussed about the preacher taking Elijah to a show without his parents permission. I learned what deceit means using a circle map. I had fun hanging out with my pals in Ms. Mostek's Pm group.

Super Sallie Reading

I'm enjoying reading time with some of my new friends I have met at Youngblood Intermediate. We are discussing a novel called The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg which is kind of similar to the real Civil War. I enjoyed spending time with the students of Youngblood Intermediate because they are very enthusiastic about learning. We've created a circle map about one of the characters from the novel, and it was really fun. I hope to learn more facts about the Civil War from this school!
